RFLD missions in Northern Benin to end female genital mutilation (Thanks to our Partner AWDF)

For the RFLD (Regional Organization), the fight against female genital mutilation also involves the mobilization of men and women for the development of alternative solutions. The RFLD works closely with community leaders, civil society leaders, children and young people to raise awareness, transform their behavior in order to end this practice.

MISSION 1: MEETING WITH FGM SURVIVORS

The team Network of Women Leaders for Development – ​​RFLD met the week of April 25 to April 29, 2022, a total of 40 survivors of female genital mutilation in northern Benin. Many of the women and girls have undergone cross-border FGM. The testimonies of survivors are full of pain and hurt.

More action is urgently needed from local authorities to end this human rights violation.
