Launch of the RFLD Handbook on Female Genital Mutilation (Survivor's Compendium)

This document was designed and produced by the Network of Women Leaders for Development (RFLD).

To fight against female genital mutilation, RFLD maintains that the involvement of religious and traditional leaders, state actors, media personnel, law enforcement, the education of men and women, the active participation of practitioners will help to put an end to this harmful practice that violates human rights.

For the RFLD, the fight against female genital mutilation also involves the mobilization of men and women for the development of alternative solutions. The RFLD works closely with community leaders, civil society leaders, children and young people to raise awareness, transform their behavior in order to end this practice.

The names of those interviewed have been changed to protect their identities.

The publication of this manual was made possible by the African Women's Development Fund (AWDF)
