Gratitude for Our Partners in Progress: Honoring Donors’ Impact on Gender Equality and Youth Inclusion

We express deep gratitude to our valued donors and partners for their crucial support in advancing our mission focused on gender equality and human rights in Sub-Saharan Africa. Special acknowledgments go to organizations such as the African Women's Development Fund, Amplify Change, and many others. In the past five years, we've cultivated regional collaboration, achieved Observer Status with the ACHPR, and participated actively in various missions across Africa. We've trained local organizations on African Human Rights Mechanisms, enabling them to engage effectively with AU bodies. We appreciate all partners who have contributed to our efforts and commitment to ongoing advocacy.

Our Key Impact at the regional in the last five years :

  1. We are proud to have been appointed by the African Commission on Human and Peoples’ Rights (ACHPR) as Member of the Working Group of the Special Rapporteur on Human Rights Defenders in Africa.
RFLD has supported West and Central Africa organizations to engage at the Regional with AU organs and we are proud to have trained them on several occasions on AU Instruments and African Human Rights Mechanisms. We have been part of numerous missions in African Countries for engagement with States actors and key stakeholders.
  2. As WADEMOS Steering Committee Member, we continue to engage with ECOWAS and Members at the Regional level on Key thematic related to Human Rights and Democracy.
  3. RFLD has published several reports with West and Central Africa focus on Women and Youth. Download here : https://rflgd.org/publications/
  4. Our Research Team has made available a Regional Data Center useful for Donors, NGOs, Media, and State actors. The RFLD Dɔnùesè Data Center aims to fill the existing gaps by providing comprehensive datasets that can inform researchers, policymakers, and activists about the state of gender equality in the region. This data not only helps identify areas requiring urgent intervention but also highlights successful initiatives that can serve as models for others. One of the center’s primary objectives is to strengthen research and analysis related to gender issues. By offering a vast repository of information, the RFLD Dɔnùesè Data Center empowers researchers to conduct in-depth studies that explore the nuances of gender dynamics in Sub-Saharan Africa. The RFLD Dɔnùesè Data Center also plays a vital role in supporting civil society organizations (CSOs) and activists working on the ground. These organizations often operate in challenging environments, facing resource constraints and limited access to crucial information. By providing tools and resources, the center enhances the capacity of CSOs to implement effective programs and advocate for policy changes. For instance, armed with accurate data, activists can engage in informed discussions with policymakers, pushing for legislation that addresses gender-based violence, reproductive rights, and economic empowerment. The center’s resources enable these organizations to conduct awareness campaigns, mobilize communities, and hold governments accountable for their commitments to gender equality.
