The rise of digital platforms in West and Central Africa has significantly transformed how information is disseminated, leading to both increased access and the rampant spread of disinformation. Various stakeholders, particularly women and youth, are mobilizing to combat misleading narratives through collective actions aimed at promoting community resilience and safeguarding democratic integrity. Disinformation, characterized by false information intended to deceive, poses severe implications for social harmony and electoral processes, necessitating educational initiatives focused on media literacy. Cooperation among civil society, media professionals, and local organizations is essential for combating misinformation, enhancing transparency, and fostering trust in institutions.

Participation du RFLD au CSW 69 à New York

Le Réseau des Femmes Leaders et Développement (RFLD) participe activement à la CSW 69 à New York, prévue du 10 au 21 mars 2025. Il organise un événement intitulé “Dialogue Régional Francophone Beijing +30” en février 2025, centré sur l’évaluation des avancées et des obstacles à l’égalité des genres en Afrique de l’Ouest. La délégation du RFLD, constituée de deux membres, abordera divers enjeux dont l’autonomisation économique des femmes et la violence basée sur le genre. L’objectif est de renforcer les voix des femmes d’Afrique de l’Ouest au niveau international et de promouvoir des recommandations concrètes pour l’égalité des genres.

Empowering Youth and Women in Local Governance

Le Réseau des Femmes Leaders pour le Développement (RFLD) a lancé un « Manuel d’Orientation sur la Voix des Jeunes et des Femmes pour une Gouvernance Locale Inclusive et Responsable dans le Borgou », soutenu par l’Ambassade des États-Unis au Bénin. Ce manuel vise à renforcer la participation des femmes et des jeunes dans la gouvernance locale, en répondant aux défis posés par l’absence d’égalité des genres et l’inclusion sociale. Bien que le Bénin ait fait des progrès à travers des lois, la lenteur de leur mise en œuvre reste une préoccupation. Le manuel est un outil pour promouvoir un développement local inclusif et équitable.
