Today marks a historic milestone in the advancement of human rights across Africa! Two groundbreaking digital solutions have been launched to make African human rights tools and mechanisms accessible to every citizen, regardless of their location or internet connectivity.

The CHARM Africa Consortium (Magamba Network, Réseau des Femmes Leaders pour le Développement - RFLD, CIVICUS, and Defend Defenders), with generous support from Sida, has successfully brought this vision to reality.

🚀 From Hackathon to Reality

📅 2024: The Beginning

CHARM Africa Consortium successfully conducted an Africa-wide virtual hackathon to identify innovative solutions for improving African citizens' participation in human rights mechanisms.

⚙️ One Year Development

Through an intensive one-year development process, the two winning solutions were carefully crafted by dedicated developers and teams.

Official launch at the 85th Ordinary Session of the African Commission on Human and Peoples' Rights (ACHPR) in Banjul, The Gambia.

  • Connectivity issues in remote and rural areas
  • Complex processes for reporting violations and seeking justice
