Voices from the Continent: RFLD's Francophone Regional Feminist Retreat in West and Central Africa
In September 2023, a momentous event took place in the heart of Africa. The Francophone Regional Feminist Retreat, organized in Benin by the Réseau des Femmes Leaders pour le Développement (RFLD), brought together passionate activists and feminists from across West and Central Africa. The gathering not only underscored the resilience of the region’s feminist movements, but also highlighted the persistent challenges these organizations face in their quest for gender equality and human rights.
Participants came from Benin – Togo – Niger – Burkina Faso – Mali – Senegal – Chad – Cameroon – Ivory Coast – Guinea Conakry – Gabon – Equatorial Guinea – DRC – Central African Republic.
