§ Frequently Asked Questions
Answers, openly.
Is my donation tax-deductible in the United States?
Yes. RFLD holds an NGOsource Equivalency Determination (ED), recognising it as the equivalent of a US 501(c)(3) public charity — donations are direct, compliant and tax-deductible.
Where does RFLD work?
RFLD operates through four regional offices — Porto-Novo (Benin), Accra (Africa Office), Dakar (Francophone Hub) and Banjul (AU Liaison Hub) — with active programmes in 35+ countries, and 670 member organisations across the continent.
How is RFLD funded and how much reaches the field?
RFLD is funded by institutional donors including GIZ/BMZ and philanthropic partners. In 2025 we delivered $1.77M, with 85% going directly to field activities and grassroots grantees.
How can my organisation become a member?
Write to admin@rflgd.org with your organisation's profile. Membership is open to African women-led and feminist organisations aligned with our charter.
How do I apply for a grant from RFLD?
Calls for proposals for the Africa Grant Portfolio and the WAFF Fund are published on our Tenders & Grants page and announced in the newsletter.
How do I report fraud, abuse or a safeguarding concern?
Use the Secure Reporting Portal at rflgd.org/rfld-report/ or email integrity@rflgd.org. Reports are handled confidentially.
