Who we are
This notice covers rflgd.org and the emails we send. The site is run by the Réseau des Femmes Leaders pour le Développement (RFLD), a pan-African network of women’s organisations. RFLD is registered as an International Organisation in Senegal and as a non-governmental organisation in Ghana, Benin, Nigeria and The Gambia. Our Africa Office in Accra is responsible for the personal data described here.

What we collect and why
You can read the whole site without an account and without giving us your name. We only receive personal data in the situations below.

We keep each type of data only as long as the purpose needs it. Newsletter data is deleted when you unsubscribe. Donation and grant records are kept for the period that accounting, tax and donor audit rules require, then deleted.
Cookies and your choice
When you first visit, a notice asks whether you accept statistics cookies. If you decline, or ignore the notice, Google Analytics and Google Ads run in a restricted mode that stores nothing on your device.

Our site also uses WordPress.com Stats, which counts page views for our own reporting without advertising cookies.
You can change your mind at any time. The notice will open again so you can pick Accept or Decline.
Data outside your country
Some of our providers, including Automattic and Google, store data in the United States or the European Union. When data leaves your country, we rely on the safeguards these providers offer, such as standard contractual clauses, so that it stays protected to the level described here.
How we protect it
The site runs over an encrypted connection and sits behind a web application firewall. Only authorised staff can open personal data. Inside RFLD, personal and sensitive data are handled under our Digital Security and Information Management Policy, which covers data classification, device security, secure communication and incident response. If a breach puts you at risk, we will tell you and the competent authority as the law requires.
Your rights
Wherever you live, you can use the following rights with us. Data protection laws in Ghana, Senegal, Benin, Nigeria, The Gambia, the United Kingdom and the European Union give them legal force.
See your data
Ask for a copy of what we hold about you.
Correct it
Ask us to fix anything inaccurate or incomplete.
Delete it
Ask us to erase your data when we no longer need it.
Object or restrict
Ask us to stop or limit a use, including any use for communications.
Take it with you
Receive the data you gave us in a common format.
Withdraw consent
Unsubscribe from any email in one click, or change your cookie choice above.
Write to admin@rflgd.org. We reply within one month and we do not charge for it. We may ask you to confirm your identity first, so that no one else can obtain your data.
If you are at risk
If you are a defender, a survivor or an activist and need to reach us safely, use a device and a network you trust. Write to integrity@rflgd.org and ask us to continue on an encrypted channel. Our confidential reporting page lets you raise a concern, anonymously where possible.
To leave this site quickly, close the browser tab. On a shared device, use a private browsing window so that your visit is not stored in the history.
Children
This website is not designed for children, and we do not knowingly collect their data online. When our programmes involve girls under 18, consent and protection follow our Safeguarding and PSEAH policy, available on our governance page.
Complaints
If you think we have mishandled your data, please tell us first at admin@rflgd.org so we can put it right. You can also complain to the data protection authority where you live, for example:
