AU-CEVAWG Convention: Ending Violence against Women and Girls in Africa

About Course

Adopted in February 2025 by the African Union, the AU-CEVAWG Convention is the first legally binding continental treaty dedicated to ending violence against women and girls. This course from the RFLD Académie presents its origins, definitions, principles and the obligations of States.

It also gives you practical tools for action: the monitoring mechanism, alternative reports, national action plans and advocacy strategy. The course was designed for NGOs, activists and women’s movements in French-speaking Africa. It ends with a quiz that leads to a certificate.

Full course material: download the PDF (in French).
