Launch of the RFLD Handbook on Female Genital Mutilation (Survivors’ compendium)

Africa 1 min read
Updated

This document was designed and produced by the Réseau des Femmes Leaders pour le Développement (RFLD).

Its content is the sole responsibility of the RFLD.

To combat female genital mutilation, the RFLD maintains that the involvement of religious and traditional leaders, state actors, media personnel, the forces of law and order, the education of men and women, and the active participation of practitioners will put an end to this harmful practice which violates human rights.

For the RFLD, the fight against female genital mutilation also involves mobilizing men and women to develop alternative solutions. The RFLD works closely with community leaders, civil society leaders, children and young people to raise awareness and transform their behavior in order to put an end to this practice.

The names of interviewees have been changed to protect their identities.
