From Data to Disruption: Francophone Africa Feminist Advocates Ending Violence Against Women and Girls (EVAWG)
Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG) is a significant human rights violation in Francophone Africa, manifested in forms like intimate partner violence and child marriage. Combatting VAWG requires a strategy rooted in data-driven advocacy, empowering feminist activists to leverage legal frameworks to enact change. Training programs focus on data collection to quantify violence, identify vulnerable groups, and push for resource allocation, while addressing systemic barriers like underreporting and cultural resistance. Advocates employ the SMART model for focused goals, engage male allies, and utilize narrative change to reshape public discourse, demonstrating collective power in pursuing a future free from violence for all women and girls.
