Access to Healthcare for Women in Fragile Francophone Cities of West Africa
Access to healthcare for women in fragile Francophone cities of West Africa is severely hindered by socio-economic disparities, political instability, and cultural barriers. While some countries have made progress, many women still face significant challenges in obtaining essential healthcare services, particularly reproductive health care. Factors such as poverty, limited decision-making power, and inadequate healthcare infrastructure are prominent obstacles. Cultural norms and stigma related to health issues further complicate access. Political unrest often disrupts health services, exacerbating existing inequalities. Improving women’s healthcare access requires a comprehensive strategy that addresses these barriers, emphasizing community engagement and the strengthening of healthcare systems.
