The SRHR Advocacy Game Challenge is Here : Available in English and French!

The RFLD Hub EmpowerHer Health has been launched to enhance gender equality and health outcomes in Sub-Saharan Africa. This new digital platform, created by RFLD Dɔnùesè, provides beneficiaries with accessible, rights-based information on sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR). A standout feature is the SRHR Advocacy Challenge, an interactive game aimed at developing skills in policy engagement and stakeholder collaboration. The initiative aims to utilize digital innovation to expand access to essential knowledge and empower individuals to promote sustainable change. Partners are encouraged to explore and share this important resource within their networks.

Claiming Space, Building Futures: Reflections on Youth-Led Feminist SRHR Advocacy

The ongoing struggle for human rights and social justice, particularly in Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR), highlights the critical role of empowering marginalized groups such as young women, adolescents living with HIV, young LBTIQ persons, and young people with disabilities. Emphasizing the necessity of rightsholder-led advocacy, the narrative shifts from passive participation to active roles in shaping policies that address their specific needs. Engaging these communities fosters genuine empowerment, accountability, and societal change. Intersectional strategies are essential in confronting structural barriers, while narrative change through storytelling amplifies their experiences. Sustainability relies on institutionalizing advocacy networks and securing long-term funding, ensuring their voices guide future transformations in SRHR and human rights.

Aid to women’s organisations is falling. RFLD moves funding fast to women-led organisations and defenders, in French and English, through a network of 1,143 member organisations in more than 35 African countries.L’aide aux organisations de femmes recule. Le RFLD achemine vite les financements vers les organisations de femmes et les défenseures, en français et en anglais, grâce à un réseau de 1 143 organisations membres dans plus de 35 pays africains.

RFLD currently serves as Co-Chair of the SEA-T Programme Advisory Council, mandated to ensure the programme’s direction, priorities, and resources are meaningfully aligned with the visions of African women-led civil society. The SEA-T Programme is funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and implemented by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH.Le RFLD assure actuellement la coprésidence du Conseil consultatif du programme SEA-T, chargé de veiller à ce que l’orientation, les priorités et les ressources du programme soient réellement alignées sur les visions de la société civile africaine portée par les femmes.
