The RFLD has developed a platform called Dɔnùesè, which focuses on monitoring laws, presenting case studies, and advocacy strategies that protect women in West and Central Africa. The RFLD Data Center Dɔnùesè, an initiative of the Network of Women Leaders for Development (RFLD), serves as a vital resource for those advocating for gender equality and social inclusion in Sub-Saharan Africa. The name “Dɔnùesè,” meaning “development of information” in the local Fon language, reflects its mission to gather, analyze, and disseminate quality data on gender-related issues in the region.
The Dɔnùesè Data Center is a valuable tool aimed at strengthening efforts for gender equality in Sub-Saharan Africa. By providing reliable data and in-depth analyses, it helps to inform debates, guide public policies, and mobilize the necessary resources to achieve sustainable development goals.
This platform focuses on six key themes: abortion, gender-based violence, forced marriage, land law, female genital mutilation (FGM), and disability law.
Legislative advancements have been made to address gender-based violence in different countries; however, implementation and advocacy efforts remain crucial for achieving an equitable environment.
Each country platform presents studies cases, gaps, and country laws.
