Yellow Clean Modern Conference Presentation – 1

The Réseau des Femmes Leaders pour le Développement (RFLD) is proud to be among the organizations participating in the Multi-Sectoral Approach (MSA) training on the implementation of the Maputo Protocol. The training, organized by Equality Now and funded by the African Women’s Development Fund (AWDF), will take place from July 1st to 2nd 2024 in Nairobi, Kenya.

RFLD is committed to advancing women’s rights and gender equality in West Africa and across Africa. The Maputo Protocol, a landmark legal instrument that guarantees comprehensive rights to women, is a crucial tool in this endeavor. However, its implementation requires a multi-faceted approach that involves various stakeholders.

RFLD has led national projects on the Maputo Protocol in Benin and Níger. We have also published Training Tools for CSOs and Reports on our Work in the ratification and domestication of the Maputo Protocol. RFLD has translated the Maputo Protocol in Hausa, Zarma, Yoruba, and Goun. We have also made these Translated versions in Audio Versions for Millions of people in West Africa.

The MSA training provides a unique opportunity for RFLD to share its experiences and best practices in utilizing the MSA framework to advocate for and implement the Maputo Protocol in Benin. RFLD’s expertise in mobilizing diverse actors, including government agencies, civil society organizations, and community leaders, will contribute to the collective learning and knowledge exchange during the training.

By participating in this training, RFLD aims to strengthen its capacity to implement the Maputo Protocol effectively and contribute to creating a more equitable and just society for women in Benin. RFLD is excited tocollaborate with Equality Now, AWDF, and other participants to advance the rights of women and girls across Africa.
