ADVOCACY FOR THE MAPUTO PROTOCOL – The President of the RFLD received by H.E. Mrs Adidjatou MATHYS, Minister of Labour and Public Service of Benin

A delegation from the RFLD was granted audience today, Thursday November 11, 2021, at Benin’s Ministry of Labor and Public Service. Just as the sun shows its glory at its zenith, the star of women must undoubtedly shine. The President of the Réseau des Femmes Leaders pour le Développement (RFLD), Madame Dossi Sekonou Gloria AGUEH and her team are well aware of this, and have made it their top priority.

As part of the “All for Maputo Protocol Project” implemented by the RFLD, and financed by the Swedish Agency for Development and International Cooperation (SIDA), advocacy for the inclusion of women in the political process and decision-making spheres has been carried out for a 50/50 environment.

For Minister Adidjatou MATHYS, it was an excellent opportunity firstly to learn about the areas of intervention of the RFLD, a women’s network that has succeeded in carving out a place for itself under the sun of the major women’s promotion networks through its high-impact actions in the Republic and beyond, and secondly to learn about the actions already undertaken as part of the implementation of the “Tous pour le protocole de Maputo” project, an initiative of national scope.

Zou, Ouémé, Plateau and Collines departments: these are the Benin departments that have already received the “Tous pour le protocole de Maputo” project’s fingerprints,” declared the RFLD’s first authority to Minister Adidjatou MATHYS. According to her, this is not the first time the RFLD has proved its worth, and she made this clear by informing the Ministerial Authority of the RFLD’s areas of intervention. “The RFLD is active in a number of areas: civic space, women’s rights, economic justice, civic engagement, peace and education”, insisted the President.
